ARVIC ARETEY
Rambla de la Generalitat, 1 - 9
08770 Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, España

The winery was built in 1918 in heart of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia - only 40 km south-west of Barcelona – by the Santacana family. It is recognized to be one of the five oldest and most traditional wineries of the region. The first enhancement was made in 1944, the second – very important and extensive – was inaugurated in 1992 by Catalan President Jordi Pujol.

In 2001 the winery – which until that time was known under the name Montesquius – was taken over by Grupo Arvicaretey. A very broad modernization process in all areas has taken place.

These three important phases in the winery’s history – foundation, enhancement and modernization – make it an unusual mixture of tradition, state of the art technology and impressive architecture.

Arvic Aretey has been BRC and IFS certified in March 2007.

ORTEGA EZQUERRO
Plaza del Frontón, 3
26512 Tudelilla, España

The origin of the winery can be traced back to 1896, when Don Quintin Ortega planted his first vines in the unique area close to the small village of Tudelilla in the Rioja Baja. In 1999 his grandson Carmelo Ortega started the new project together with Stephan Helmes.

Carmelo’s vineyards are located in a unique area called “La Pedriza de Tudelilla”, this refers to the clay soil which is fully covered with stones, rocks and gravel. It is a unique microclimate of just seven km2, sitting between 500 and 700 meters above the little village of Tudelilla. These rocks act as a protective layer between the adverse elements and the clay soil beneath them, and also are favourable towards effective drainage. The winds prevail from a northerly direction.

Ortega Ezquerro is preparing for BRC and IFS certification.
